Caroling in the Mall

Oh the weather outside is frightful!  Here in Dallas, TX we are having our first ice storm of the season.  It's recorded a half inch of ice is out there!  The power is still on here but many are without.  I'm staying in where it's warm working in my craft room listening to Christmas carols and decided to make this page of my best friend's youngest on a field trip caroling in the mall.

Christmas Luncheon Favors

This time of year is full of Christmas parties and luncheons and this year I am responsible for my Shakespeare Club's Christmas luncheon.  I love pinterest!  I got so many ideas and decided to go with the trendy burlap and lace theme.  These are the favors I made for each guest and the programs.

 

 

I found these cute mason jar candles at the Dollar Store and with a little lace, twine and printable round stickers they become the cutest favors.  And I just printed up the programs using fun Christmas fonts and pasted them inside the folded cardstock.

Clothes Pin Frame

So I have all these adorable pictures of my grandson from the pumpkin patch but with all the other holiday activities and obligations I have not had enough time to get them in the scrapbook.  I want to display them while it is still autumn and before we start pulling out all the Christmas decorations.  I found a great frame at Pier 1 that can hold and display them until I can get them in the scrapbook!  This is so cool!

Apple Themed Holiday Luncheon

I belong to a wonderful Tuesday morning Ladies Bible Study.  I shared our Picnic Themed End of the Year Luncheon HERE and wanted to share this one with you too.

This apple tree was rather simple to make.  I used a large Styrofoam cone and green wooden picks from the floral department of the local craft store.  I layered the apples sticking the picks in the apple first then into the cone.  Then I filled in the gaps with cedar, juniper and rosemary from my yard.  I used the small 2 1/2 in diameter Lady apples and a Granny Smith on top.  It not only looked pretty it made the room smell very Christmasy!

Gobble Gobble

Staying up late tonight trying to get the photos of my grandson preserved.  He'll be two in January and I still have not finished his first year scrapbook.

I wish I could scrapbook all day!  Here is a fun page I made today with a trendy bunting that is oh so cute.

Halloween Scrapbook Page

I couldn't wait to print and scrap my adorable grandson in his Halloween costume.

To create the page first I used a printed scrapbook page from the Recollections Boo Who paper pack.

Then with my Cricut machine I made lettering with coordinating paper

and stuck them down with the Xyron sticker maker.

I used my favorite cutting tool from Creative Memories to cut the photo and photo mat in an oval shape

Finally I added a little journaling so I won't forget my grandson's little friend's name and was done!

Backing Up Those Precious Photos

I have just spent the last 7 hours backing up my photos to DVDs  from my laptop.  It's been on my to do list for a year now!  I am so behind not only is saving my photos but also my scrapbooks.  My grandson is almost two and I am only on his 6 months page.  I can say yes I've been busy living life and making memories but I want to preserve those memories too.  Hopefully I have learned my lesson not to procrastinate when it comes to my photos again and I hope I have encouraged all of you to backup your photos too.  A computer crash can completely destroy all those precious photos.  Don't take the risk!

Verteran Star Quilt

Every year the quilt guild I am a member of donates new handmade quilts to our veterans here at the Dallas Veteran Hospital.  I enjoy spending my extra time making something for someone who has done so much for me.  I just finished this one and thought I would share.
